Anyone with a new in box Suprafly 60, Suprastar 60 or Suprafly 45 he is willing to part with? I am in the market for one. Please message me with the price and other details. Thanks

52jaws 10-18-2015 07:00 PM

Hello everyone.
Picked up a Futaba Acrostar 60 at a swap meet recently and getting it all back together. In fact it's almost done. I need to know the CG range as I have no instructions and a search of the web yielded nothing unfortunately. Was hoping some one out there still has the instructions or a new in the box kit and relay the info for me. Would be greatly appreciated. Don't need the control throws but if there handy I'd take those too. I'll post pictures soon.
Thanks for any help guys.
Paul.

I found this post that might help:

Hey ShaneC, any interest in selling your EZ Decathlon .25? I would love to buy it, if so.

Thanks,
Mike

SHANEC 11-17-2015 01:39 PM

Sorry! No intentions of selling right now. If I did 52jaws would have first dibs.

52jaws 11-17-2015 03:28 PM

Thank you for the loyalty. Although I did just pick one up so in all fairness of spreading the love I can pass it it forward.
Much appreciated for being a solid guy Shane.

Picked this DagoRed up at a swap meet recently. Resurrecting has been fun. Tail was on crooked so removed and back on straight now. Wing tips both junk so removed those and just made some flat tips and covered with chrome monokote. Dago actually ran a year or two with polished wing tips but we're actually Hoerner tips. I just made a mold from a good wing tip I had so I'll be able to make new ones soon.
Put in an old but reliable OS .91 I had so should skoot along just fine.

Nice. I love the EZ. I have the grey version. Mint in box. Got it in a trade I couldn't pass up. Back in the 80's I bet I had about every EZ made,if I didn't get one. My flying buddy got one. Hard to repair. But flew great and looked good. Considering they were the early version of an ARF. If you ever want the .60-.90 sized fighter version. Make me an offer. But I would be afraid you would actually fly it,lol
have fun Mickey

Wow, can't believe i came across this forum. I've tried in the past searching for ANY info on these models and came up with nothing. I have the Chrome/Olive Military P-51 with an OS46FX and the 40 size retracts and added scale flaps. I've had it for ten years and it's one of my favorites. The plastic skin on the top of the fuselage is warped from hot days and i had to make a whole new front cowl after a tough landing but she still does great and is fly ready.

warhwk 12-16-2015 05:57 PM

I recently retired a 2nd gen green and chrome P-51 with Supra retracts. The Saito 82 on 20% took it's toll on the air-frame. Great flier though. It really moved with an 11-11 APC. When did EZ go Belly UP the second time? Mine was purchased new in 2001.

Twin_Flyer 12-17-2015 11:41 AM

The first time (20 years ago?) the factory had a huge fire and they lost all the molds for every model they made.

I don't remember how many years ago (ten or so?) i saw them at the WRAM show in NY with new models trying to get back into the hobby. All new models built the old way. i don't think it ever got off the ground. None of the original model were going to be made.

They were kinda expensive in their day and who want that style of construction now?

Just picked up a Blue Bird Laser 200 NIB. Looks identical to the EZ. Did Blue Bird come before or after?

I'm going to go ahead and build it, probably electric to try and preserve the weird finish on these things.

Only thing I don't like is how off the blue is on the plastic parts. I'm conserving trying to paint them, but the cowl looks to be ABS, which I know doesn't take paint too well. Plus painting the pieces would take away from the originality.

Started taking stuff out of the box and was surprised to see that both spars have vertical grain to them, which I imagine makes them much weaker than longitudinal grain.

Are other EZ planes like this? I'm wondering if I should cut new spars for it.
