Covering material

1 Attachment(s)
I recently assembled a SIG ARF of the Sun Dancer that had the best covering material I have ever seen! No wrinkles and the most beautiful opaque finish I have seen. They claim it is Oracover or Ultracoat (same stuff) but it is unlike any Ultracoat I have seen. It has an opaque white undercoat, at least on the bright yellow, dark yellow and true red that SIG used. It has been suggested it might be Toughlon from World Models. Anyone have a clue?

I had a Sig SSE ARF and the covering appeared to be very much like World Models covering.

Thanks Chuckw,
I was pretty sure it was, just didn't want to drop $40 for 3 rolls and find it was not what I needed!

Sig also sells covering by the roll, I think they call it Aerokote. I bought some once and it looked & behaved exactly like the WM stuff.

The SIG Aerokote is The World Models Toughlon. Airborne-Models carries it.  www.airborne-models.com

Here's a question;

Has this 50CC SIG Sun Dancer Bipe been discontinued by SIG? I can't find it anywhere on their website. I love the looks of this Bipe but I am not sure if I want to build a bipe I cannot get parts for!

If it has been discontinued, what a raw deal!

Hi Jim,

It's still a beautiful and great flying aircraft! So fly careful and don't crash!

Ha Ha! Flying a plane you can't get parts for is a dillema faced by every scratch,plan and often kit builder! Join the club,enjoy it and just fly it as though its the last of its kind...
