Which engine for my Seagull PC-9
Just wondering which engine you guys suggest i put in my Seagull PC-9 an OS .46AX or .55AX.
I originally planned on the .46 but i have made a few small mods to the plane that have added weight, C-Cell battery, larger fuel tank etc. Will a .55 be to much for this plane or will a .46 not be enough? I take off on a rough grass strip and generaly have to drop atleast a prop pitch if not 1/2" of size to most people with the same plane for the extra torque. I don't like overpowered models but i don't want the plane to be lacking either? What do you think? Will the .46 be plenty of engine or up it just in case? Thanks in advance Stix |

I'd go with the 55 AX, and drive the airplane instead of going full throttle all the time. If your Seagull PC 9 is anything like mine was, it will handle it and handle it well. You don't have to fly at full throttle unless you're only interested in speed. The 55 AX should be awesome on the up lines!!

mine had a 46fx in it when I first got it and then put the Magnum 52 in it, both were fun :)

Mine has a Saito 72 FS in the front of it. Heaps of power and sounds great

A Saito would be great but i'm not made of money :) .46 and .55 OS AX are within my budget, not much else.

55 AX will be the best, and still fit in the cowling. Had two of them. Run type F plug with the inverted motor.
