Ryan STA

I recently aquired an out of production Great Planes Ryan STA ARF. It is missing the assembly directions. Lots of small parts so I need some direction. If anyone has built this ARF and has the manual, I would be happy to pay for a copy.

Download the manual for the ST-M also. It has some better details than the STA manual does.

Be careful when installing the wheel pants. There was an on-line article somewhere that had a better mounting technique that helps to make them stand up better to some abuse. Dump the included landing gear and go with the Robart struts.

This is a good build article too- http://www.geocities.com/jbrundt2/ST-M.html Even though it's for the ST-M, it as some nice details that will set off the STA better than stock.

RE: Ryan STA

I built my STA about 4 years ago. I agree the Robart Struts are the way to go. I powered mine with an OS 91FS. It is a great flyer and is a big ***** cat in the air. I'm trying to find new wheel pants. I order a spare set two years ago and went to mount them and found out have I two right pants. Also, there is a thread somewhere in RCUNIVERSE and there is a guy who created the scale decals for it. His company is ModelGrafix out of Yisalia, CA. The decals help dress up the model.
