RE: frenzy 100 electric
Hi - Did you ever locate these parts? I am also in the same position - bought a used Frenzy 100 airframe and want to install a Power 110 outrunner.
Did you get anywhere with Hangar 9, or anyone else? I appreciate any input you may have...Chris |
RE: frenzy 100 electric
Just curious if you ever finished this project and how it worked out?

ORIGINAL: AJsToyz Just curious if you ever finished this project and how it worked out? Andy I'm still not sure about the CG, as it seems hard not to make it nose heavy in electric mode, but sometimes I think it flies almost as if it's tail heavy. What CG would you recommend? Regards...Chris |
RE: frenzy 100 electric
What prop are you using on the 110 on 9S for 3D? THANKS

RE: frenzy 100 electric
I actually just pulled my kit out of storage to assemble.
Out of curiousity, What is the weight of the model rtf? What is your watts in/current draw with your setup? I was thinking of trying a 6s setup with an AXI 4130-16 I have but am not sure if the weight saved in the battery area will translate to flight performance with the motor. |
RE: frenzy 100 electric
I am away from the US now so I can't check, but I'm pretty sure I'm running a TGS 19x10, which is the size intended for 8S, although I'm running 9S.
I'm thinking of trying it with two 4S nanotech batteries - quite a bit less weight, and capable of high current without strees. Currently nothing seems to get too hot, and I rarely crank it to full throttle for more than 5-10 seconds going vertical (or it would go out of sight!) I don't expect to exceed 60A (=60*8cells*4V i.e. 1900+ watts.) |

Thanks.

RE: frenzy 100 electric
I think the AUW is about 8.5 pounds - if you run 6S you will need to set up for relatively high amps, i.e. if you want about 1600+ watts, your current draw will be 1600/(6*4) = 67 amps - or more if the voltage is lower than 4V/cell under load Your 4130-16 is rated for short bursts of 60 amps.

Ill check the CG for you and let you know where I'm at, it does feel a little nose heavy.

RE: frenzy 100 electric
Great info, thanks AJ!
Also, does anyone happen to know the correct size, and maybe a source, for the alluminum tubes they put over the wing dowels? I went to start assembly this weekend and found out one of mine is missing. I went to the hobby shop and picked up a standard thick wall tube that I thought was correct, but it is just a hair off on both the ID and OD (3/8 OD). I think it may be metric. I may call Horizon, but since the plane has been discontinued for so long I doubt they will have any laying around. |
