I know that the larger YS engines have superchargers, but I am unfamiliar with the YS 63.

As YS puts it ''Crankcase supercharging system unique to YS 4 stroke engines'' which leads me to believe that they all do.

If it does the YS 63 would be far more powerful than his O.S. 70, and other threads I found seem to bear this out.

Apparently he may already have the O.S. 70.

The power of a YS 63FZ/S is more close to the 90 size 4 strokes.... [X(]

Thanks, that is what I would assume given that the engine is supercharged.

Just checked it out. Are you using 20-30% nitro like they suggest for the power? I use 5% on my planes now and would like to stay in that percentage if I could.

Yep! I use YS 20-20 fuel in all of my nitro toys... airplanes and helicopters.

I am snowed in so I started to build my Ultimate I got for Christmas. I purchased a Saito 80 GK to power the plane. I need to find a radio so I can set up my linkage and fit the cowl. I turned the landing gear around by drilling one new hole in each gear for the screw to line up and orient the gear properly. Did anyone else put a larger fuel tank in their plane? I am thinking of finding a larger capacity round tank so I would not have to grind to much of the plane off. I am almost there but the snow is a problem I am to lazy to go the LHS for supplies.

If you can fit a larger fuel tank,do it...
But NOT overdo it :)

And Sir,

some pictures may help us all :(

I can put a larger tank in and have it over and slighly forward of the CG the formers are my problem, I can't cut to much out. I am not in to much of a hurry because of the weather all flights have be canceled. I am not sure how to attach a picture so here goes....

Here is another pic. This build has gone together fairly well, I have not had to do much modification so far. Our field is well maintained, we spray for weeds and roll it in the spring. We usually keep the grass fairly short so I may keep the original wheels and pants on it instead of putting larger wheels on it. I fly a Herr Little Extra off the strip, it struggles a little on take off.

maybe your grounds keeper will do a better job on the landing strip this next year. hows the wife like giving up the dining room table to your models? :D:D

Cherry table top with globs of glue to keep the dishes from sliding off. If I could just get the grounds keeper to shovel the snow off the strip I would be happy!

Nice Ultimate!

What engine do you use?
And actually how does she fly?

Is it fast?

And how does she land ?

Ups many questions but i really am excited !:D

It is not finished yet. I still have to put a receiver in it and set it up. I have a Saito fa80 GK in it. It has snowed here so I could not fly if I wanted to. :( Well I could if I built some skis...hmmm

Any more pictures to see its nose ?;)

RE: Seagull Ultimate 40 size engine?

That is one of the parts that is not done. I just mounted the motor and have to cut the cowl. It is one of those tedious jobs that I have been putting off. I am waiting on a receiver I just bought to show up so I can set up the plane, then I have to wait for the snow to melt and some good weather.

Here are a couple for you to see how far along it is. I put a Saito 80 GK in the front. I lifted the plane at the CG and it is pretty good, I was afraid I would get to much weight up front, we will see when it is done.

Just finished the Ultimate. I have not been in a hurry until now, the snow melted and flying season is upon us! I put a Saito GK 80 in the nose and put a 12 ounce tank instead of the stock 10 ounce in it. It balances great with no extra weight. Now I need dry weather and no wind to be able o try it out.
