Hey,
I'm abaout to buy an o.s. .46 LA for my cap. Do you think it is a good choice as far as size. Will it climb at least 60 feet w/ out stalling? Any imput on this engine would be nice. I also plan to put clear monokote over the gap in the ailrons, etc. Is this also a good idea?

thanx

it appears from your pic its a Kyosho 40 sized CAP 232. I would try to get something a bit larger on it. Maybe a 60 or larger if you can, just my opinion. That 46 will barely carry it around

good luck

If you're wanting to go with a 46, at least go with a OS 46 FX as it is a good bit more powerful than the LA. I believe th LA is 1.2 hp, and the FX is 1.67 hp. That doesn't sound like a big difference, but when you take into account the size of the engines, and the weight of the aircraft, it makes a large difference.

At the very least, go for the 46 FX, or the Thunder Tiger 46 PRO. The LA engine will probably fly the plane, but just barely.

Is the Cap going to be your first Plane?

RE: new pilot and engine

Sure is. Already flew it, about 50 times. I;m selling it for more room and money
