Hangar 9 Pulse XT 60 ( Prop)

HI,

I built my pulse xt 60, but when i came to mount the 14x8 EVO pro, it was not fitting my Saito GN100, i did not have a reamer, so i used the drill instead, not the hole in the prop in not centered :( ... does that mean the prop is gone bad... Also the spinner that came with the Kit does not fit the engine, can i enlarge it ?

Thanks and cheers

RE: Hangar 9 Pulse XT 60 ( Prop)

The hole in the prop really should be centered. If it is not, it will throw the balance way out of whack and cause a lot of vibration through the plane. It is best to use a prop reamer, and I would toss that prop and start over.

The holes in the spinner can be made larger to accommodate different propellers. It is recommended to remove equal amounts of material from both sides of the spinner and balance if possible.

Hope this helps.

Manufacturers make spinners to fit the smallest prop feasible for that spinner because you can make the holes bigger, but you can't make them smaller.

And it makes very little sense to make a spinner for each size prop. That would mean 8 or 10 molds for the same spinner size.

ok, thanks all, i am going to try to balance the prop that is not 100 percent centered, if it will not balance, i will just get a new prop.. <div>

I've used the same technique on my props. Every prop gets balanced after the hole is drilled or reamed. I haven't had any issues with
structural failures and the vibration doesn't seam to bad considering it is a 1 cylinder engine running.

I had a 2 1/4inTru-turn spinner on my first Pulse and it worked out good. My second Pulse got a Great Planes 2 1/4in spinner and it worked out
good also. The stock spinners never even made it onto the plane.

I tried the stock spinner, it did fit but made quite a lot of vibrations so i removed it .. I will try to find the best alternative, if you have some recommendations please let me know, i am looking for a yellow or red spinner to go with the rest of the pulse colors, not very fund of alaminium spinners since i heard in the case of a crash they create a lot of vibrations that could either damage the engine. <div>
