Has anyone flown this plane? The guy at the LHS says that it will have ulimited vertical with a 46 and that it is a great plane. What do you guys think?

I like mine......it's a blast. I thought that it would snap & spin a little better.....but from what I've been hearing the recomended CG is very conservative....and I'm going to start moving mine rearward a bit at a time. I have a Thunder Tiger Pro .46 on mine with an APC 12.25 x 3.75 prop and I'd say it has unlimited vertical......it will pull up out of a hover relatively easily. Once I got about a 40 foot take off roll (in grass) and jerked it straight up.......it went to about 400 feet with no problems until I backed off of it....

Heck yeah, that's what I'm talking about! Thanks for the input. I think I might go buy one this weekend at the LHS if I have time. I'm really looking forward to getting a good sport/3D plane.

flyboy, this plane is the first time that I got something different then the normal "sport plane" and I'm so glad I did.....it's just a ball being able to fly in a 50ft x 50ft "box" and flip, roll & tumble the plane like crazy......this is the one that comes to the field with me every time........

Awesome! I'm really glad to hear that it is such a great plane and that you are having so much fun with it. My UltraSport is fun, but not enough for me, so I think its time for a step up. Have fun flying!

flyboy, good luck with it! Some experienced 3D people might not like it as much as I do, but it's a great first 3D plane!

Mediaman, the recommended CG is between 3 and 3.75".......but that seems pretty conservative.....I balanced mine at 3.75" for the first flights and have since moved it back a bit closer to 4".

:) Thanks Glow plug,

I will try 4 inches next Sunday. I will try to flatspin, so far I haven't been able to do that, my Duraplane trainer flkatspins better than the 300

Once more; thanks

No Problem, Mediaman.
I was trying flatspins with it yesterday, but couldn't quite get them either......I have my high rates on the "3D" settings in the manual, but my flying buddies say I need more throw....I think they're right.....I'm going to start increasing the high rate throws and see what happens....the initial spin when entering the flatspin isn't tight enough with my current throws....

and BTW, you're the 2ND person that told me a duraplane trainer will flatspin!!!
