Edge 540 by Seagull

Well I bought the Edge 540 ARF by Seagull and assembled it in about 12 hours, ONE long day... Went together easily, but didn't really follow the instructions as they are useless. I installed a Tower Hobbies .61 in it until I can afford a .91 It takes 6 servos not 5 and I used a pull-pull on the rudder. It flies wonderfully and I am well satisfied. It lands well. I will say that the LOW rates per the instructions are very responsive for anyone getting the model be forewarned! I flew it just fine on those rates but I like responsive planes.. at those rates it rolls in about 3/4 second for comparison purposes.

One question though... I know I'm well UNDER powered but I found this plane to tuck considerably trying a knife edge.. Is this a charictoristic of these planes?? Was I just not going fast enough to give it a good try????

Hi:

I have about 20 7min flights so far. That is all I get on stock tank with OS 91 FX. It does wicked flat spins and knife edge is straight when mixed in. I slaved elevator ( it tucks to belly ) and aileron ( unwinds towards right side up ). The original canopy was 7.9oz and I took out the pilot and few lightening holes and it is now 4.2oz. Over next few days, I will be adding few lightening holes on the fuse. I feel that it is very fast but like all 60-90 size aerobats, wing loading is just too high. This would fly super if it was under 8lb IMO.
