Lanier Edge 540 Problem
I reluctantly write this note. I recently purchased a Lanier Edge 540 ARF(30%). I had a servo failure on the second flight which caused the aileron to flutter. The only damage to the plane was a bent wing tube. I called Lanier to order a replacement only to find out that the kit was built with a non-standard (metric) size wing tube. The result was that the wing and fuse tube inserts are .020" bigger than a standard 1.500" tube. Multiple calls to Lanier have resulted in no offer to help resolve the problem even though they have admitted they did have a lot of these kits with this problem. I have been professional in my conversation but not even been allowed to speak with the owner. I have taped- up a standard tube and have flown the airplane. I have suggested that they supply me a new set of wings and a insert for the fuse with the correct diameter to fit a standard 1.500" tube. I have been in this hobby 30 years and have never had this type of issue. The integrity of the people at Lanier are in question. I have purchased my last Lanier product. John

Why?
Is he an a** clown? So many stories of people being unhappy with service from various places. I am starting to forget what is reasonable and not reasonable for a manufacturer to do nowadays. Someone is always fed up with brand X plane or brand y customer service. I wonder if if has always been like this.....

Do a search on this site and you will find companies that make metric size tubes.
