I am new to electric, several years in glow. My two teens are expressing interest in RC, and have chosen to do a science fair project testing their hypothesis that length and pitch will have a predictable effect on thrust.

I would like to ask for a list that you think we will need, bearing in mind that we are starting from scratch. For example, I do not yet own a charger that will work with Lipo's. Could you please suggest a matched power, esc and motor setup? These will not be wasted parts. The power system will be put into a trainer when the science fair is over!

A few thoughts: I have a servo tester that might work as a speed control input. It would be good to eliminate the tx / rx if that is possible. We have looked at several YouTube vids and have a basic plan for building the L-shaped test stand.

I apologize if this has been done to death; I am just trying to give two great kids a start.

A fish scale & a 3 foot loop of line will do perfectly.
