Default OV-10 Bronco Motor Setup

I have ordered a Nitro Planes OV-10 Bronco. Below are the specs published on their web site for the Bronco:

Wing span: 48 in / 1220mm
Wing area: 434 sq in / 28 sq dm
Flying weight: 4.4 lb / 2000g
Fuselage length: 50 in / 1270 mm
Engine Required: 2c 0.15 cu in X2 pcs
Radio Required: 4-5channels,7-9 mini servos

Li-Poly : 11.1V 1300-1600mAh x2 pcs
Propeller:8x6 x2pcs
Out runner Brushless Motor : 400T x2 pcs
Speed Control :15 - 20 Amp x2 pcs

I am trying to find a motor setup that will work for this plane by choosing one comparable to what they recomend. The only info their website gives on the 400T motor is 1100 Kv, 12A max and 9x6 prop. What would a good or comparable E-Filte or AXI motor be?

I already have two AXI 2212-34 motors but I am assuming they would not be a good choice since the AXI specs recomend them for 10-25 ounce planes. Is my assumption correct?

Also, if I wanted to use a three bladed prop. , how would I choose one?

Thanks in advance!

your assumption is correct. Nitro Plane's recommended motor system seems very week for this 70 ounce airplane.

Here is what I came up with: Based on 2- 2070 mah 25C TP Battery packs

AXI 2808/24
Prop 9 x 6 3-blade
Amps: 27
Prop Speed 48 mph
Thrust: 38 ounces

Better:
Hacker A30-28S
Prop 9 x 6 3-blade
Amps: 31
Prop Speed 53 MPH
Thrust: 45 ounces

With two motors you will get double the thrust (of course). So the AXI's will provide 76 ounces of thrust, and the Hackers will give you 90 ounces of thrust.
Either way the battery will handle it. I would suggest two 35 amp controllers. You can use only one battery of 3300-3700 mah providing it is at least 15 C.

Thanks Sal, you're a big help. You confirm that I am at least starting to understand motor selection.

Great! The best help is to either consult with an expert who really knows motor system selection or to purchase a good program for the PC and get familiar with it.
The software that I prefer is electicalc.
