Default Hacker 20-22L on 2 Cell Lipo

Sal,I have a Hacker 20-22L w/X20esc and TP 1320 Pro-Lite 3s1p on a 15oz Foamy. I have a Tanic 2280 2s1p that I'd like to use. The TP 3s1p hits 140 watts and flies great on 10x4.7. I've tried other props with the Tanic 2s1p using my WattMeter and I get 85 watts with 11x4.7 and 100 watts with 12x6 E-Flite prop. I know thrust is what is important but I was sure the 12x6 would load the 22-22L enough.I contacted Hacker, and they (Chris) said the 20-22L was designed as a 3 cell motor,so they had no recommendations for props 2 cells. Help?? Thanks, MG

Default RE: Hacker 20-22L on 2 Cell Lipo

There is no subsititute for voltage...actually there is...more amperage. Watts are Voltage times Amps, so if you decide to decrease voltage by 1/3rd you decrease the overall power unless you increase the amperage. Of course you can do that with the 2280 battery as it will put out more amperage but the motor might not be able to take it as that motor shouldn't go over 20 amps max in burst.

Still here are the specs: based on Hacker A20-22L

3-cell 130 mah
Prop: 10 x 4.7 apac slow
Amps: 13
Prop speed :33mph
Thrust: 27 oz

2-cell 1320
prop: 13 x 7 APC
Amps 14.2
Prop Speed: 25 mph
Thrust: 20 oz

Even going to a larger prop (up to 15 x 8) I can only get an increase of 1 or 2 ounces more thrust because the motor cannot really handle the extra drag of the larger prop. I would stick with the 3 cell for best performance.
