Sal,I have been doing glow for over 40 years but with the brushless motors and light weight batteries I am considering trying electric on this.my question is what do I need in the way of motorsgear drive if needed, props, esc and batteries to do this?I have read that new maganese batteries are safer than lipo's and think that would be the way I would like to go.know for the 2nd part of this is what would all this equipment weigh?

Enter the Cessna 337 Skymaster 25 Fuel or Electric Powered. A Prop in Front, A Prop in Back--No Worries about engine meltdown...This intriguing aircraft is every r/c enthusiasts' dream. It's a twin, with the engines placed on the centerline so there is no adverse yaw in an engine-out situation. Pretty nifty huh? It's so cool that even in a real life Cessna 337, the FAA even has a special inline thrust twin rating which acknowledges that the planes are easier to fly.

Sorry for taking so long. I will have a recommendation for you on Monday. Still I can tell you that two medium sized outrunners will work fine. I would go with something in the size of an AXI 2820 ot Hitec HC3522 or Hacker A30-10L. I would run either on or two 3-cell battery packs. With 5 lbs two of these motors whould be able to give you 8-9 lnbs of thrust at 40-50 amps. I would consider going with 4500-6000 mah battery capacity so you could get 15 minute plus flights.

In order for me to give you an educated answer I still need some specs. To do an analysis I will need to have not just the Kv but the idle current (expressed as Io) and the resistance (this is usually given in Milliohms) Still from the specs that you gave me it sounds like the motor is too smal (2.20 lbs is only 3.2 ounces which sounds too small) the operating voltage of 12-30 amps sounds too low. I would want a set of motors that would go to 50 amps each continuous as a minimum.
