Default Blown motors

I havea GP Spectra that is stock except for the battery which is 8 instead of 7 cells. I have been through two motors...the stock speed 600...after about 6 flights on each. Is the 8 cell pack the culprit? If so, can you suggest a brushed motor that will take the 8 cell pack for a replacement? Thanks for any help in advance.

Those are fairly cheap made brushed motors. yes, it is most likely that you are overloading the motor with the combinaton of prop and battery. Try several things including increased cooling, smaller prop. Generally brushless motors are what is used today and going to a brsuhless setup will take care of you troubles and give you considerably better performance.

Thanks.... I just got a brushless motor and brushless ESC. I'll leaved the brushed setup in, as the third motor I have is rated to 9.6 volts and see what happens before I put the new gear in. Appreciate the advice!
