Starting to get the autogyro bug. I saw an Osprey autogryp for sale in the classified section. Stated was built using plans from Model Airplane magazine. Can anyone tell me anything more about this.

Hi Razquel,
I have not looked at the adv you mention but the name is familiar.
The military V-22 has the name Osprey.
This is a twin rotor helicoptor style craft with swiving rotors.
It can take off and land vertically and have forward flight ala a plane.
It would be very difficult to duplicate in model form.
Would think you need more info about the model offered, OK?
Good luck!

Razguel,

The plans you are looking for were printed in Model Airplane News. Here's link where you can order them.

http://www.rcstore.com/rs/general/de...3931&catego=PL

It is a model of the V-22. However, the rotors are permanently tilted up so there is no complicated swiviling. I've got a set and will build it but the only thing holding me off is that you have to vacuum form the nose piece out of plastic. Not that difficult but a bit time consuming which I cannot afford right now. The rotor hubs are Cox .049 cases which saves some time. It'll definitly look neat at the field.

Hope this helps,
Mike
