Starting to get the autogyro bug. I saw an Osprey autogryp for sale in the classified section. Stated was built using plans from Model Airplane magazine. Can anyone tell me anything more about this.

RE: osprey
Hi Razquel,
I have not looked at the adv you mention but the name is familiar. The military V-22 has the name Osprey. This is a twin rotor helicoptor style craft with swiving rotors. It can take off and land vertically and have forward flight ala a plane. It would be very difficult to duplicate in model form. Would think you need more info about the model offered, OK? Good luck! RE: osprey
Razguel,
The plans you are looking for were printed in Model Airplane News. Here's link where you can order them. http://www.rcstore.com/rs/general/de...3931&catego=PL It is a model of the V-22. However, the rotors are permanently tilted up so there is no complicated swiviling. I've got a set and will build it but the only thing holding me off is that you have to vacuum form the nose piece out of plastic. Not that difficult but a bit time consuming which I cannot afford right now. The rotor hubs are Cox .049 cases which saves some time. It'll definitly look neat at the field. Hope this helps, Mike |
