Sparky Autogyro - Plans Needed
I've been reading Jim Baxter's site about his Sparky Autogyro and would like to build one. Looks like a great little project. Unfortunately I've not been able to locate the plans and details. I have the building manual but not enough detail to scratch build. Can anyone point me in the right direction or perhaps provide me a set ... I will of course be happy, well perhaps not happy, but will pay for copying and shipping cost.
Thanks, Ron |
RE: Sparky Autogyro - Plans Needed
I was not familiar with the Sparky Autogyro, so I did a quick Google search and stumbled across this. It appears the plans were once available on http://www.autogyro.com. This message was posted on their website:
"PLEASE NOTE.... These plans will no longer be sold from this website... AUTOGYRO.COM Disregard any price and/or mailing information posted below. All remaining copies have already been sold and the listed plans will be offered in the near future from AeroBalsa.com. AeroBalsa will add these plans to their excellent line of ROTOR BLADES." I didn't see anything on AeoBalsa's website, but you might shoot them an email and inquire about the status. |

Thanks... Have sent them a request but have not heard back... Thought I'd take a chance to see if anyone had the plans and would make them available.

RE: Sparky Autogyro - Plans Needed
Jim,
Thanks very much for the offer. Mike Smith never got back to me on my request? No matter... I think I've located a set. One of the other people on the forum is going to email me the plans. If that fails I take you up on your offer. Thanks again. Ron |
RE: Sparky Autogyro - Plans Needed
I have the original SPARKY drawings in scan format, or an updated set on DWG or WORD formats. Let me know which one you want, I can foward it you before the end of the week, as well as some flying video.

Norbert,
Thanks for the offer but someone has already sent me a set of plans. Can you tell me where can I purchase blades? Thanks again, Ron |

Ron,
the easiest (and of course the most expensive) way is to order blades from Aerobalsa. But you can do them easily by yourself, in plain balsa if you use a clark Y airfoil. The method I use is shown on attached pictures. |
RE: Sparky Autogyro - Plans Needed
Norbert,
Thanks again... I'll give it a try and keep Aerobalsa in the wings... No pun intended! Ron |

Can I get a set fro you? |
RE: Sparky Autogyro - Plans Needed
I do not plan to make any buisness by making blades or autogiro parts. If you prefer to buy blades, go to Aerobalsa and then you just need to balance and finish them. The quality of these blade is good and they perform well, I have already tested them in flight.
