Gyro Test Pilot

I have been telling myself to post pictures of my Gyro for a long time, I ran out of excuses so here it is. First a little story about it. One day one of our club members asked if he built a gyro would /could I fly it? Since I fly helicopters I think that's why he asked and I said I will try. We had an understanding we both knew in the prototype stagewe were going to crash. He fixed I flew. He fixed I flew and so on. After several variations of a simple design it took off, and I was able to land. I knew one day he would come up with the right stuff but I was taken back when it broke ground the first time. I have come to love it. All together it took about two years of design changes and crash and rebuild time to get to this point. I have flown this one about two years. Ihope the pics. show up. PS... After all the bugs were worked out he gave it to me. He built a couple more designs and still does.

Well done! Can you give some specs? ...engine employed, rotor diameter, weight, ...?
Keep the good work.

Thanks for your interest. The blades are 22 1/4 each. Weight is about 5 pounds. Engine is an LA .46 with a 10x6 Vess prop and the fuselage is 38" long. This gyro was hand built including the blades. The gyro flies very well slow or fast. I have done two or three loops with it ,but it's just too nerve racking. The aileroins and elevator are controlled by the head and I use rudder as well in the turns.

Our club is having a helicopter event tomorrow if I take my gyro I wonder if I will be thrown out? Just kidding. They may let me fly at lunch.
