Can You Bring a LiFe back to Life?

I have a 42% Fusion LHP* 6.6V 2600mAh LiFe battery in a plane that I left the switch on overnight. It is reading 3.1v. Anyway to bring this back as my LiFe chargers say battery voltage too low to even try to charge it?

I have done the same thing with 1100ma Black & Decker Lifes (senior moment trouble). I just charged them as a Nimh battery on a old charger until the voltage came up to around 5V for the 2 cell pack and then put them on my regular charger and finished the job. Did a couple of cycles to make sure they were OK, which they were. Still use them, didnt seem to hurt them a bit. They are a lot tougher than Lipos in my opinion..

I had one last week that did the same thing, and the NiCd setting on my charger brought it back. 1 hour at 1/2c and then finish it on LiFe setting.

I spoke too soon. It never wants to finish a charge. Used to take 40 minutes or so and after 90 it is still charging - twice. I think it is dead.

Bought a new battery but decided to try to bring this one back to LiFe. I cycled it about five times and it will now discharge about 2800mah and take about the same on a charge. Looks like it may be OK. What do you guys think?

I'm sure the hobby shop has another kit in stock or can order one for you.

The battery never came back 100% I eventually replaced it, and now use the damaged one for bench testing.
