Changing an Old Zagi to Lipo?
I have an old foam zagi with 9,6 ni cad batteries in it and they are failing. Can I replace them with new lipo's as long as I maintain the amp and volt rating? I don't want to burn the esc up. and know very little about this subject as I'm a nitro flyer but ready to make the jump into electric speed! Thanks, Dan

RE: Changing an Old Zagi to Lipo?
The lipo will be more than capable of supplying the amp draw and voltage- you will more than likely be able to increase pitch and diameter to take advantage of more available power.
What esc to you have?

It just says Zagi 20 on the face of the esc, Ive flown this one in the past and it still works except very low on power and is a feat just to get her airborne.

Doesn't matter what battery chemistry you use. Voltage is always voltage in all batteries. As long as the equipment is rated for the voltage you are using the battery source doesn't matter.

You are correct on the battery swap. I love the Lipos and their consintincy ...altho Mine are new...I have enjoyed many flights with the new batteries and will never go back to the old "reliable" NiCads. kindof good By to an era!!! Age isnt bad if You use it correctly! Thanks Dan
