Default What power supply for Cellpro 10XP

Hey guys,

I plan to charge 2 5s 6600mah packs simultaneously at a 2c charge rate with my 10XP. I don't know for sure but doesn't this charger put them in series which means more load on a power supply. Would a 12v 47amp supply be enough or do I have to go to 24v. Whether the 10XP charges 2 5s packs as 2 5s packs or as a 10s pack I think makes a big difference on what power supply. What do you think?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Mike

To be honest i'm not 100% sure but i think you might just be able to do it on the 12v 47amp supply but if i was you i'd wait until you knew 100%

I'll leave a link to what i think would be up to the task,if you do go on the link go down the page until you just get passed the price tab and you will see a tab saying Discussion,ask in there as i'm sure someone will help you out better than what i can,thats if no one here has already,good luck.

12vx47= 564watts.

If you are charging 5cell lipos (18.5v) the above power supply, if 100% efficient would give you 30amps (564watts/18.5v). That 30amps is more like ?25amps due to heat loss.

To charge 2 6amps batteries at 2C you need 24amps.I would say that power supply but would work but not a lot of head room.

Correct me if I'm wrong

To get the 600 watts you need a 30V PSU.

Having been there - even the best deep cell batteries take a real jolt when charging the 5 cell packs - -the best bet for field charging thes FAI packs - a small quality generator
Indoor charging with the 110 volt charger is best IF you can use the max voltage allowable on my Cellpro 10 -thats 15 volts- so buy a power supply which is a switching type and capable of max inputs on the 10xp
