RE: A123 Files for Bankruptcy
Agreed Pete!
A123 had the poorest marketing model I think Ive ever seen. Perhaps out of bankruptcy there will come a workable company, A123 had the poorest marketing model i think Ive ever seen.
Had heard that a Chinese company had purchased a controlling interest but I am probably wrong.

This came up in the Jet section. I talked to a major dealer of hobby/tool grade cells here in the states and he told me that he has no trouble obtaining the cells we use, that is a different division than the one that deals with the smart car batteries and he is not expecting any supply disruptions.

A123 says in its bankruptcy filing that its assets will be bought for $125 million by supplier Johnson Controls; it had said earlier this year that the government had paid about $130 million of the $249 million grant.

I watched the stock for a while (AONE). I almost bought some at 25 cents. Then I started reading about the interest from a company in China and the money problems that A123 was having and thought I better leave it alone. I hope they can recover and keep the technology.

Had the same thought but the chart behavior was poor.
Maybe Johnson controls can keep it together
