Lightbulb Losi Micro Desert Truck LiPo Conversion?

I currently have a fully stock Losi 1/36 Micro DT including the stock 150 mAhNiMH battery which just isnt cutting the cake for me. I only get a few minutes of run time with this and would definitely like to change that, but as this is my first electric rc I have a few questions.

What I have in mind is replacing my current battery with this LiPo: I was thinking of simply strapping it to the top of my receiver and plugging it in. Then I asked myself is it really that simple? To my knowledge its all the right specifications (7.4v, 2S, 20C) but what I dont understand is this whole "Balancing" thing. Couldnt I just plug it in to the standard portable JST charger thats included with my truck? If not what would I have to do to make this battery work in my truck?

Thank you and God Bless

No it's not that simple, It's very dangerous to try what you was going to do.

You need a lipo capable charger .If you plug it into your wall wart nimh charger it'll likely cause problems.
good luck
