Default 9v 400mA charger for NIMH?

I have an old Nicad 9v/400mA charger and I was wondering if I could use it to charge a NIMH, say 3000MAH? I realise it would take quite a long time but I've been reading here that NIMH are best slow charged anyway. Is 9v ok for them?

Thanks

What is the voltage of the NiMH pack you want to charge?

Best charge rate for a 3000mAh pack would be 300mA. 400mA should be OK too.

Thanks, it's a 7.2v battery. In fact it's only 2300mah so I've got a smaller charger: 180ma. I hope this is right, I've read it should be about 1/10 the battery mah and I'm happy to wait for it.
