Default Power Lab 8 or GT 1200

I have a PL 8 Charger that I have been using for a couple years. It has worked flawlessly. I do not use any of the Control Software with my PL-8 though.

I am looking to add a second charger. I can get a new PL-8, a Refurbished PL-8 or a new GT-1200. I feel any of these will take care of my needs for a long, long time.

Any thoughts would be appreciated

Ed

Unless you're thinking of going with the bump controller battery tag system, it's an easy choice, go with a GT series charger.
The only downside is that your PL8 may get jealous when it's bumped down to second choice
The menu navigation on a GT charger is much more user friendly

Pete, that is what I am thinking. One thing I am not sure of comes down to balancing. I feel the PL-8 balances well, not sure if the Gt Series does it the same way.

AFAIK, there is no difference in accuracy between the PL and GT series in regard to balancing. Typical Cellpro....Accurate!

I believe the PL balance current capability is 1A, while the GT is 0.5A

There was a new PL8 shown at an event recently' it is a 'faceless' PL8; the BumpController is built in and becomes the interface and controller. While I am a fan of CCS for monitoring battery performance, the Bluetooth and tablet capability is far better IMHO.
