Morning all, just got a couple of new battery packs, NIMH 2000 mah. This time I thought I'd try to get things right. I',m using an Accucyle and am wondering if I should put these guys on a discharge first then charge or vice versa. I seem to rememeber from using the NICads that it took a few cycles to get them to fully charge. I think NIMH's have to be treated a little differently . Should I cycle or not? Thanks.

No need to discharge prior to charging. Just make your first charges at 0.1C and leave on charge for at least 15 hours. The old fashioned wall warts work well for this. A peak charger does not unless it has a setting that allows a slow charge that does NOT shut off when a peak is detected. At a charge rate of 0.1C or less, no harm will come to your battery should you forget and leave it on longer than 15 hours. By doing this slow charge (sometimes called a "forming charge") you insure that all cells have reached a maximum charge.
