What do you guys think about drilling a few holes in the top of our metal ammo cans for venting should a lipo decide to catch fire? Mine has a very secure seal and am afraid it would go off like a grenade.

I don't claim to be an expert.. However a member in my club...Who is a pretty smart guy... has often said you do need some venting on your storage box for that reason. So I think you are on the right track !

I drilled a 3/8 hole under the latch so even if fire were to breach the hole the latch would help re-direct it.

Removing the rubber seal is a nice way to provide venting without taking out the drill.
