Ace DDVC Charger Needs Repair

Hello all,
The Ace DDVC variable current charger is a great tool for charging NiMH batteries from one cell to (many, I forget the top number of cells).
I still use glow power, so it charges my flight pack and transmitter.
I "ruined" mine by plugging in the 24-volt power supply of the sister product that sits next door, instead of the 16-volt one that belongs to it and it quietly failed when I applied a load. I'd like to revive it and I'm wondering if there are electrical whizzes among you who can offer some opinions.
Information:
The screen lights up normally with three zeros, but there is no power output when a battery is connected.
I took it apart and found no fuse to replace and all the diodes test normally for continuity.
There are no obvious burn marks on any components,
No bad smell to the board,
All solder joints all look good as far as I can tell.
Question:
Do you think it's more likely that I blew the replaceable output transisters, or that a more non-replaceable, many-legged IC chip was damaged?
Thanks for any help,
Will

Well I did replace the two power transistors, it was a tricky proposition, fraught with hazards and pitfalls. And...drumroll and cymbal crash...no change! Aw darnit, I thought I had it.
I'm going to noodle it over again, what am I missing?
I can probably get a modern equivalent of the charger that I want if I shop around. I just think it would be so cool to bring my sorely missed, formerly snazzy but now considered vintage, Ace DDVC back from oblivion.
Well, there's an update, in case you've been also wondering along with me as to what could be the cause of this annoying lack of function.
Regards,
Will

Thanks for your reply Mia45943,
I didn't think anyone would give any advice on this one. I do know an excellent electronics expert who I worked with almost 30 years ago, he may be able to help and I bet he wouldn't mind. I'd have to bring him a nice little present - a gift card for breakfast out with his wife would be nice. I don't have the knowledge to test the functions of an IC, It's too bad, because it was a very handy charging tool.
Thanks again for your consideration!

Mia45943, In today's age of chat bots, I have wondered over the course of a day if you are actually a bot. Please don't be offended, but your answer was so general and, because of the content, it seemed more than likely to have been put together by a non-human. I also checked into the public profile of mia45943 and found only eighty-some replies, with no original posts. Though it's still possible that you're not a bot, I'm about 75% sure that you are, based on form and content, with the profile running last. Please don't think this an attack if you are a real person, it's nice that you gave a well-meaning, well-structured, fluff reply. I might be a little mad if someone called my work that of a bot, but please don't be. It's just that the bots are out and proliferating throughout the net. Cheers though and thank you if you're not a bot!
