Default Lipo Got Hot REAL Fast!

I use these type of adapters all the time to combine my 5s lipos for 10s without problems. I have 2 2600 mah 3s batteries I want to combine using the same style adapter to get 6s. I ordered 5 of these adapters off Amazon and when I connected the batteries to the adapters, one battery immediately got so hot I had to drop it. I put it in my Bat Safe box for safety but it hasn't exploded. Why would this 3s battery get so hot so fast when my 5s batteries are cool as cucumbers even in my planes? What concerns should I have about the battery that got hot?
Thanks,
Bill

Hot means short.

About the only way to really tell is if you're proficient with a multi-meter or know someone who is that can ring it out to see.

You wouldn't be the first person to get a junk or mis-wired adapter or connector off of Amazon.

I must be really tired from yard work today. I'm proficient with a meter. I should have thought of that right away.
Thanks.

Yeah, after testing a couple of them, I think they must be parallel adapters, not serial. I have continuity between both male " -" and the female "-". Same with "+".
Apparently, I ordered the wrong ones.

So, is the battery a goner?

Probably, did it puff? I'd be very leery of it in any case.
