Default Hobbico tcap 0100 charger

Is there any way to rewire this charger to make all 4 switches/connections operate like the 3rd one (50, 100, 250mah)? All my onboard airplane batteries are 2000mAh NIMH (4-cell 2000 for flight pack, 1-cell 2000 for onboard glow - I have separate charging jacks for each). As it stands now, the first two connections on my charger are useless to me unless I want to put the batteries on charge about a week (40hrs seems like a week) prior to flight. I was told by a friend to use the 100mAh rate, as the 250mAh rate might be too high. Presently, charging my 2000 mAh batteries at 100mAh should take 20 hours, right? So you can see my dilemma of using these other existing 50mAh connections to charge these batteries, knowing this could take 40 hours! I'm really leary of leaving any battery on charge for longer than overnight. Please help with any suggestions. I am relatively new to the hobby - hope I presented my problem correctly! Thanks!
