Default Adapter to charge LiPos from any charger

The people at ElectriCalc have introduced a device, the LiPoDapter that enables you to safely charge Lipo packs (2 to 6 cells X 5 amps) from your Ni-Cd/Ni-Mh charger.

See: http://www.slkelectronics.com/lipodapter/index.htm

We have tested this at the Battery Clinic and found it to work as advertised on a number of different chargers.

Red, would this device work with an Alpha 4? I know it has some special pulse routines that might confuse it.

I have used it only on the N function with the Alpha 4.

Further testing on the LiPoDapter indicates that it does not fully charge the pack when a 1C rate is used. We suspect that this is because the current does not taper off as it approaches the cut off voltage as is done in other Lithium chargers. One would have to reduce the charge rate manually or reconnect at a significantly reduce rate to bring the charge to a higher level.
