Short answer no. Lead acid is abbreviated Pb. Confusing isn't it.

No, but you can use the chraged lead acid as a power source, if your charger has 12v DC input.

The only chargers I know of that can peak charge a 12 volt 7ah lead acid battery are the Great Planes Triton, and the MRC Super Brain 969 or 977 models, any of which will run around $100.00. If peak charging is not a concern, there are many 12 volt trickle chargers on the market that would suffice (although peak charging typically provides longer runtimes from batteries). You will want to charge that battery at no more than .2C (20% capacity) so a 7000mAH battery *.2 = 1400mA or 1.4 amps maximum charge current. Make sure whatever charger you use, you stay at that current or less to avoid possible cell damage.

Yes, you can use the Super Nova 250s to charge your Pb battery. However, you can not discharge a lead battery. You must use the manual method for this charger. Default is set up to do Pb acid batteries on the 9th selection. It will shut off when done but it usually takes quite a while if your battery is really low. I usually charge at 1.5 amps.Tom

Forgive if I'm wrong but the Super Nova Competion is not the same as the Super Nova 250s. The 250S will charge Pb batteries the Competion will not.

JNorton, you're right... missed the model of the Super Nova. Tom
