I just got into the nitro hobby, and I purchased a hobbico 850 charger to charge my ez start batteries. I also purchased a racers edge hump pack 1400 mah battery and a cheap charger for it. ($7.00). Anyways, I am curious first off if this is an ok setup, second will this hobbico charge the hump pack? Also, I am having a problem with the hump pack. I put it on the charger first for a couple of hours, connected it and the power was poor, so I connected it for a few more hours and same thing. Last night I left it charge all night, still the same thing. I hook up my 4 aa batteries just to check and make sure that it is not a wiring problem, and everything works great. Could this be a bad battery pack or? Thanks for any advice!

Looks like that charger is for 7 cell batteries only. Don't use it on the hump pack.
What is the ma rating of your cheap charger? Your capacity (1400) divided by the ma charge rate, times 1.2 is how long it should take to fully charge your hump pack from flat.
Do you have a meter to check the voltage on the pack? Fully charged it should be close to or even above 7 volts. If it's below 6, you've prolly got a dead cell.

Sounds like you neglected the formation charges. Check out www.rcbatteryclinic.com for some good info on the care and charging of all types of batteries.
