Default Problem with Hydrimax battery

I have a question. I have the Hobbico Elite Accu-cycle charger and I am trying to charge a Hobbico Hydrimax receiver battery. It tells me there is an error when I try to charge it. I put the battery up to a voltmeter and I get no volts on the meter. The battery has three wires coming out of the battery. I do not know why. It has a white, red & black. Most batteries just have red and black. Has anyone ran into problems with this type of battery? What is the white wire for?

Thanks in advance,

Hydrimax uses a servo lead for there connector. The yellow or white wire is a dead wire.
If your not reading any voltage and the charger is telling you there's a problem. (figuring you've connected it correctly) Then there is most likely a bad cell in the pack. Return it for replacement if you can.

Thanks for your reply. Well, it turns out the black wire was cut inside. I fixed the problem and I amcycling the battery.

I have another question. I am charging the battery now and it gives me reading of 1900 mah for capacity, but the battery is only a 1650 mah. How is that possible? Note: This is the first charge so far. Could it be giving me a false reading since it is the first charge? I am doing a slow charge - .15 amps.

Thanks,

Manny,
If that 1900mah is what the Accucycle Elite sez it put in , it's meaningless, your charging at C/10, as you should, but at that slow rate you have to charge 14-16 hrs on a timed basis. If the 1900 is what the Elite is reading out when discharging, I would then suspect the Accucycle is off calibration, if you have access to a reasonably good Digital VoltMeter, you can easily check and correct the discharge rate, there is a thread on the forum for doing it.
Good Luck,

Pete
