Default Nimh on a Nicd charger

Can you use a nicd charger on Nimh batteries. I heard you have to watch the battery if you do it. Just wondering. Thanks

You can, they are very similar, but the nicad charge will overcharge the nimh battery if it's a peak type. If it's a wall-wart or timer charger it will not know the difference.

You mean the cheap chargers with a built in timer will be better to use then a peak charger?

No, not really. A nicad charger will overcharge a nimh every time, but a timer charger will only do what you set it for. It may overvharge or undercharge or you may get it perfect. The best bet is a corrrect nimh peak charger.
