Default How to use Tanic Taps?

Hi, I have a 2 cell 1050mah (10-12c) lithium battery. I nthe manual it says to use the taps to individually charge each battery. Now what I do not understand is: I have a 7volt 2 cell battery, each battery resting at around 3.5v. If I were to charge just one battery to 4.2V wouldnt the pack become unbalanced because one battery is at 4.2v and the other at 3.5v? Or is there a microchip that keeps the two cells different? I have a triton charger if this helps. Also is it ok to just charge and discharge through the main leads.
Thanks, Sam
