Default Hobbico Torqmaster LC Charging

Hello, I've had a [link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXL370&P=0]Hobbico TorqMaster LC 12V 7Amp Battery [/link] lying around for about 5 years now. I have never charged it or used it, and I tried charging it today but the charge light would not come on. Is the battery dead? I just bought the charger today at the local hobby shop. Its a 12v hanger 9 for lead calcium batteries.

Well, I think I answered my own question. Found a website that says these batteries have to be stored in a charges state. Bummer

yeah, you've got it =)

those batteries are best stored on a float charger. you could also charge them like every 3 or 4 months or something, but if it's been sitting around for 5 years, it's probably lost all its charge and the lead plates are probably hardened with sulphur deposits =(
