Default Voltage Question

I know it may not be the best for an electric car, but can you run a 8.4V instead of 7.2V?
I usually run nitro, and started building an electric sprint car, and don't really know a bunch about electrics.
Trinity tr12002 motor, Noak Explorer 2 ESC.

I do remember running 9.6V batteries in Makita 7.2 screw guns, and it never seemed to hurt the unit, just gave it some decent power.

I don't feel like melting this car down, so if it's a dumb idea, just say so. I'm looking at this as learning curve time.

Default RE: Voltage Question

The main concern here would be the ESC. The motor will be fine as long as you don't over amp.
Here is the manual. In the specs 6-7 cells.

So the answer is yes it will be fine.
