Lipo balance charge lead
Can anyone tell me why Lipo batteries have such short balance leads? It's a real pain when installing batteries in the model. It means they have to be removable, or get charged through the supply lead. Can you get extention leads, or is it ok to make up extentions? Or is it really necessary to balance charge them & just charge through the supply lead?

RE: Lipo balance charge lead
I use an extention balance lead because I use a lipo sack when I charge and the balance board from my charger is a pita. I really don't suggest you charge your battery in your model, just my thoughts but something goes wrong and your model is in little pieces. Use a lipo sack, it's the safest way to charge. Don't give up safety for convenience.

Druss is right, LiPos are not intended to be charged in the plane.
This is because they have occasionally been known to burst into flames.
Additionally, do not charge them unattended.
This means, don't plug them in the night before flying and go to bed.
Additionally, there is no problem with making and using extensions.
Good Luck,

RE: Lipo balance charge lead
you can use an extention lead. there are plety of them in hobbycity.com
I'm using lipos in my planes. they are mostly placed around the firewall , so I charge them on the plane. it is right that you have to use a lipo sack and etc.. but I don't. I think if you treat your lipos well and use a quality charger they will be fine while charging.
