4S and 6S to make 10S or do they have to be equal
to make a bigger pac, can you use a 4 and a 6 to make a 10 as long as the mah is the same or do the number of cells have to be equal?
thanks,T

RE: 4S and 6S to make 10S or do they have to be equal
Actually, nothing has to be equal, but you will always be limited by the smaller parameter of each pack. Ex: pack #1 is a 3200 mah, 30C discharge, slow charge pack; pack #2 is a 2000 mah, 20c, fast charge pack. Put the two together in series and yo will effectively have a 2000 mah, 20c slow charge pack.
You can do it, but it will be a fire waiting to happen unless you are a detail fanatic.

I have two 4s 3300Mah 35c and two 2s 3300Mah 35c Hyperions that I use in various combiantions.
But as Walt has pointed out, you MUST pay attetion to the details one of them beagin EACH pack has to be charged individually.

Yes.
They should be exactly the same, otherwise some cells may drop below cut off voltage.
first time you are using the charged pack, after approximately 50% discharge, disconnect the batt and check all cells voltages.
if they differ a lot, its not a good 10s lipo.

so, if I use a 6S 3700 and a 4S 3700, both 20C, to make a 10S I should be ok as long as I wire and charge them properly?

if not ,charge them separately and don't discharge them more than 75%.

what do you mean by same batch?
what do you mean by same batch?
otherwise they might not be the same capacity.
you can fully discharge them and recharge them to measure the exact capacity of the packs.
sorry for my Engilsh
