RE: Pros Cons on CheapBatteryPacks.com?
I bought a couple of 1100 mah nicads a few years ago. I used one pack sparingly, never charged at more than 100 mah for 16 hrs or ever discharged it completely. It didn't make it a year. The other pack was kept around as a spare. I kept it charged every few months. Went to cycle it and use it to replace the other one that went bad. Guess what, it wasn't any good either. So both packs didn't even make it a year. Funny thing, I charged and cycled them when they were brand new and they cycled very close to capacity. Any way, sent an email to CBP and didn't even get a reply. All I asked is what is the life expectancy of these packs. I usually get around 2-3 years out of my packs but not these. I pretty much decided against CBP. I have used NOBS 800 mah nicads and they are starting the 3rd year and still cycle well. This is just my experience with CBP. Others may have had better results.
I figure this post will probably get canned but this is my honest experience. |

I don't buy nicd/nimh anymore. They do not last. I'm now using A123 from NoBS and it has been night and day difference. 3 years and they discharge with 10ma from new.

Em, 6.8 oz for a 2S 2200 mAh pack. A 5cell NiMH 2000 mAh weighs in at 6.2 oz. Fairly close.
Like I said - Emmmmm ... |

Regardless of the vendor, you want Sanyo cells with welded connectors between cells. That will get you the best reliability and longest service life. I get mine from hangtimeshobby.com and have been happy with the service.
