JR Extra 2500 nicad or nimh?

I ordered a JR Extra 2500 mAh Nicad, part number JRPB4460. I received the battery with that number, but on the front it says it is Ni-MH. Horizon customer service is no help and neither is the JR site. Anyone know what it really is as it impacts my charge rate and I do not want NiMH.

Thanks.

I didn't know that Nicad and NiMH should be charged at different rates.
I always thought they were treated the same.

Why don't you want NiMH?

What does it say on the battery pack itself?

The front says NiMH and the back Nicad. You should not charge NiMH faster than .1 C. You can charge Nicad much faster. I fly jets and have always charged my receiver and turbine battery between flights at a rate much faster than .1 C to top them off. Nicads are much more able to take faster charge rates. THis is my first JR Extra that said it was NiMH.

1c should be fine, thats what I charge all my NiMH and NiCad batteries at.

The only time you need to use .1C on a NiMH is during its formation charge.
