Need help identifying connector type
Hello everyone,
I'm new to this site and forum, so I cannot yet post any pics or URLs to show you what I'm looking for, so I'll try my best to explain it. I have a 12v car battery booster pack made by AllStartBoost that uses their Intelli Cable #561 with a proprietary connector. If you go to ALLSTARTBOOST dot com, you can see the unit I'm talking about. I contacted the company to see if they'd provide me with the name/i.d. of the type connector they use, but they said they couldn't, from a liability standpoint. It looks something like an EC5 or XT60 connector, but there are significant differences. I have some ideas for alternate uses for this battery pack, so if anyone can help me out, I'd be most appreciative. Thanks, Bob Strong Chester NY |
LOL
Well I suppose people will sue for anything It's an EC5 https://www.progressiverc.com/ez-sol...onnectors.html I have a very similar jump start pack, the wire looks identical and it's definitely standard EC5's on it. |
Hi Andy,
Thanks for getting back to me. I agree that the bullet connectormight be an EC5 type (I just measured it; it's actually 4.5mm), but it's the housing that surrounds it that I'm most interested in. My email address is [email protected] I hate to be a pain, and I hope I'm not breaking some kind of protocol, but would it be possible for you to send me your email address offline so I can send you some comparative pics of what I've got? Like I said, I'm so new to this site that I'm not allowed yet to post pics or URLs. I need to accumulate 10 postings before I can put up pics. Thanks again, Bob Strong |
EC5 seems to be the choice for the jump starters. Since the output on the unit is male, the EC5 provides better protection against shorts than the male XT connectors.

Hi all,
I agree that the connector itself looks EC5, but what about the blue "housing" that hold it. Anyone have an idea as to what it is, or if it's a proprietary design? You can see it on their website at ALLSTARTBOOST dot com, then click on "products", then choose "accessories", then click on "intelli-cables part #561". A detailed pic is shown if you click on the middle of the lower three pics (front view). It shows the blue housing in close-up. BTW, it's a secure "https" website. Thanks, Bob |
Further research shows this connector is not EC5 after all; it is an obscure designation of "CP-1000" connector. Possible source is the GOOLOO Trading Company...
Best rgds, Bob |
Fascinating though in fairness we are just looking at pictures but it sure looks like EC5

The connector you reference is a custom connector they made in house, you aren't going to find it elsewhere.
