Does anyone know if these batteries the same chemistry as the A123 cells?

They do not. They are essentially LiPo technology with some gutsy marketing. Remember the Lithium-Iron (Tadiran) that Duralite was pushing some time ago?

you're lookin for lithium nano phosphate, lithium iron phoshate, lithium iron, LiFe, M1 or a123 are all basically the same thing =)

Thanks for the info. Does anyone know of a good place to purchase the A123 cells. I know that AirWild is selling them already made into reciever packs. But they are pricey.

They are going on e-Bay (DeWalt 36 volt packs) for $100 for a 10 cell pack. Easy to make into electric flight 4S packs.

Amazon for $109 and Lowes,Home Depot and Wal world for the 1100 packs for around $19.50 for 2 cells
