Accu Cycle Elite problems

Have two of these and having some problems with both of them.
One thing they both do is this.

I cannot charge a muti cell Nimh off one port and charge a single cell Nimh on the other port at the same time. Makes the charge on both ports shut down. Most times it reads "Too high input voltage" when this happens and completely shuts down both ports.
The usual scenario with this problem is this.
Chargiing a 6V RX pack on one port usually 1950-2700 ma at 1C, and the single cell 3600-4500ma between 1 and 1 1/2C

One charger trickles at a higher rate than was programmed off port 2. Sometimes as high as 10 times what I programmed!!
Another problem with this same charger:
Charging a 5 cell Nimh RX pack at 1C start a charge on the other port with an 8cell TX pack. Also at 1C.
The TX port goes into "Check Battery Connection"

Hate like heck to have to now in the middle of flying season give up a charger sending it to Hobby Sevices.....

Any input??

I will check one and see if I can duplicate. I'm guessing that there's something wrong with yours. I've seen the errors many times on AC power supply. Some times using on a DC power supply will work fine without error.

The problem of tricking at 10X the rate happens with what battery? and can it be the only battery being charged? I've not seen that error before , but will try it out. I'm afraid it sounds like a bad one too.

the 10x trickle rate has happened on both 5 & 8 cell
I only use the chargers with the power supply that came with them.

have to check this, but doesn't the power supply that comes with the unit transform to DC?

You may be exceeding the capacity of the power supply, there is a maximum current you can draw from the AC to DC supply. See if it does not work properly when you limit the maximum current you are charging the batteries at.

I cannot get it to duplicate this error of tricking at 10X rate. The ps does convert to DC I am sure.

The maximum capacity of the charger itself is 2 amp. Not sure if this is per port or total for the unit. Will check ratings on the power supply for output, but wouldn't you think a total charge rate between the two ports of 900ma wouldn't be overdrawing the power supply?
I charge 6v NiMh 1950ma RX packs at 250ma and the single cell 4500ma Nimh at 650 ma

I tried a few packs along with single cells and mine does a fine job. I'd say both your units are in need of repair/replacement.

I like and use the Hobbico Elite a lot. However, the AC/DC power supply that comes with it is a bare minimum design, poor filtering primarily. After the power supplly for mine failed, I use a converted PC supply for the 12 volts as the charger itself works very well. The erratic operation with the original AC/DC supply is what led me to the discovery that it was not the charger acting up, just the prime power to the charger was causing the bad operation. To see if that is your problem, just run the charger off a 12 volt battery and see if all works as it should.
