Default Nexstar Wing Help

I have the Nexstar and the wing bolt is retarded it threads into the wing before it screws into the rubber cushioned part and I can not get it to thread.
I'm thinking about drilling the threads out of the wing so it will be easer to install will this be ok?

That is what I would do. It should thread into the fuselage blocks and slide clear in the wing holes.

good I think I will do that because its just not working with threads in both parts unless someone chimes in that that's not a good idea

Note there is an addendum to the manual on their website for better wing fit.

Best fix for the wing bolt on the nexstar wing is to shave off the tip of the bolt into a point. goes in every time now!!

I do that on most of the nylon wing bolts I use it makes it allot easier to screw into the threads,I used to fight to get the Nextar wing bolt on all the time,my mount broke during a crash and since the replacement part wasn't available at the time after gluing the broken pieces to gether(just the threaded section) I epoxied a 1/4-20 nut onto the underside of the mount it was really tricky to get the screw to thred in properly, its held up for many years now even thought I rarely fly the plane any more,it still hangs from my ceiling in the shop.

Thats a good tip, think I will try that for my Kadet. Ever since I slammed a wing into a real plane on the ground it has been difficult to get one of the bolts to go in smoothly.

I have a Nexstar ARF and my wing bolt does not thread into the wing. The plastic wing center section that the bolt goes thru should be smooth. However, I noticed some of the balsa from the wings protruded into the bolt hole and made it feel as if it was threaded in. I just pushed the bolt thru the hole in and out several times basically cleaning out the balsa that was grabbing the threads and now it spins freely. You may have to run a drill bit thru to get the balsa out but that hole should definitely be smooth. The wing mount system is not very well done on the Nexstar and mine is a pain to get lined up for sure. Sharpening the end of the bolt is pretty much mandatory. Good luck.
