I have a TT91FS without a home. I already have a 4*60
Please let me know your suggestions.
This is what I'm looking for in a plane:
engine must be mounted right side up, not inverted
71+ inch wingspan (bigger is better, I like big planes)
not more than 250.00
ARF
I'm looking at the GP PT-19??
thanks,

Hmmmm. ARF huh? You didn't say whether you preferred fast, slow, pattern, scale, 3-D, realistic flight, etc.
The Great Planes Spacewalker is nice, but the engine is on it's side. Tou could probably install it upright. You'd have to catch one of Tower's sales to get it at $250, but that's not difficult.
A G.P. Big Stik 60 and $100 left for the flight pack. I have the 40 size with an OS 70SII and it's a joy.
The G.P. Shoestring looks pretty hot, but I just read a review from last summer that said it needs to be landed a bit hot (might not be the plane for a bumpy, grass field).
The Horizon Ultra Stick .60 looks and flys good. We have a club member who is on his second one. The first one had a linkage failure (per the autopsy) so he installed his own control tube/guides on #2. Says something that he immediately got a second.

I prefer a scale like plane that lands nice and slow, but not afraid of mild aerobatics.
I was looking at the G. P. PT-19 or H9 AT-6?? Any thoughts or suggestions?

Have you checked out the Great Planes Ryan STA or STA-M? It comes in two configurations, both 82" w/s and is priced at $235-$250.

If that's too much plane for you, how about a J-3 Cub?

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm leaning a bit towards the AT-6. I wish the wing was a bit larger though.
On the Ryan the engine needs to be mounted inverted. I'm trying to get a plane where I can mount the engine right side up.

I've had planes with engines mounted inverted and on their side the engines allways worked fine.

Have you tried side mounting? I find side mounting actually the easiest to get running consistantly. It tends to put the carb in a better location with respect to the fuel tank. I have an old OS .61FS (pre-surpass) that ran great sideways, while another guy who had one never could get it running right inverted.

Montague, Nah, haven't tried sideways yet. I'm done with my Spit though and looking to something else, plus something a bit more forgiving.
Can't decide what is next though. What do you think? I'm currently looking at the H-9 AT-6 or the G.P. PT-19??

I haven't flown either of those, but I do know that truely scale AT-6s can be a handful on landing, the swept tapered wing with a fairly narrow tip chord can lead to tip-stalls. The PT-19 is a real easy flying plane with no bad habits that I've heard of.

Mont,
Good point on the wing set up of the AT-6, haven't thought about that. Something about the PT-19's boxy looking fuselage though. I love its huge 80+ wingspan, but can't seem to get past the fuse. I just upped my spending budget to about 300.00 that I could spend. Send help.

Have both GP PT19 and GP Spacewalker and love both. 91 is a tad lite for PT19 (I run Saito 100) but is fine for Spacewalker. Also, Spacewalker is more aerobatic. It is a floater for landing - a real pleasure to land.
Check fuel tank pressure for engine - could be the problem.

From: Laurel, MD,
btw, it's not uncommong for inverted 4-strokes to not idle well, the problem is usually the plug getting cold. A lot of guys fix the problem with an onboard glow that kicks on at idle, there are even some new spiffy ones that sense the plugs temp and apply heat when needed regardless of throttle. I wonder if a hotter than normal plug might not also help, after all, there's nothing really magical about 4-stroke plugs that require that they only be used in 4-strokes or that 4-strokes can only work with 4-stroke plugs. It does usually work out best that way, but you never know. I haven't tried yet. Ask me again in a few months, I'm putting togther a Kyosho Tiger Moth with an inverted OS .52FS. Never enough time to get working on it though.
I've never heard anything bad about spacewalkers, everyone I know who's had one, and every mention I've seen on line about them has been positive, that's gotta mean something.

So many planes, too much decision making. It must an ARF as I don't have time to build anymore. I sure like the looks of the AT-6 though. Man, that plane looks sharp. I can't seem to get any hits on thread asking about it though.
My inverted TT91FS was maybe coming around, but didn't really want to chance it.
