Ihave an OS .25 that I would like to put into a small trainer. I would like some recommendations of ARF'S that would fit the bill. Want flat bottom wing with dihedral or something that will fly slowly.
Thanks

The Phoenix models trainer is pretty good for the dollar.

If you are willing to build, the 60" Sig Kadet Seniorita would be a good choise as well. Even better is the now out of production 48" Kadet JR. Both are three channel planes with a flat bottomed wing and plenty of dihedral. The main difference between them, beyond the wingspan, is that the Jr is slab sided while the Senorita is mostly stick construction aft of the wing

G'day
Another one that you have to build ( but it is an easy build), is the Sig LT-25. It is the smaller version of the very popular LT-40. I also like the Sig Seniorita. I used to fly mine with a PAW 15 diesel.
I am currently building an LT-25 to replace one that I used for several years and gave to a friend. I had a 30 four stroke in mine but a 25 two stroke would also be perfect in it.
It is not small but it is light and as a result it flies really well. It is also tough. My old one was pranged many times by people learning to land. Usually it just needed the wing tips rebuilt and the landing gear put back in.
Cheers

My Feedback: (1)
The Sig LT-25 @$113 and the Tower PT-20 @ $62 are both good kits but the O.P. requested an ARF so I didn't suggest them. The Sonic 25 ARF sells @ $75 so it beats both on price (most kits don't include wheels, fuel tank, covering, etc). Sad, but today it costs more to build a similar plane from a kit!

Just offering a +1 on the Phoenix Models Sonic High Wing. I have a Sonic High Wing and a Sonic Low Wing; they're both terrific airplanes.

G'day Larry
I know he wanted an ARF and I know they are cheaper but give me a real kit any day. I have had a Sonic and I have had many cheap ARFs but they just don't last very well. The covering often falls off and I generally find myself replacing a lot of the hardware that comes with them. I rarely really enjoy them.
I just thought I would put in a plug for the smaller Sig trainer - the LT-25. Someone else mentioned the Sig Seniorita which I also like but it just happens that I am building an LT-25 at the moment and am having fun doing it so I figured I would mention it. They fly really well too.
Here in Australia we pay a premium for Sig and Great Planes kits. And they are only available from time to time. Some crazy person is currently trying to sell the Sig range on eBay for about four times what they cost in the US. I don't think he will be selling many.
I had a PT 40 trainer some years ago and it was a good trainer too so I guess the smaller version would also be.
I think I saw that the OP had decided to get the high wing Sonic and good luck to him if he does. I should do what he wants.
A popular small cheap trainer here is the Phoenix Classic. Most people here jam a 46 into them but I am sure they would fly well with a good 25.
