Default RX Battery wires

Anybody know why this JR Extra 2700mAh 6volt 5 cell receiver batter has 3 wires connected to it? The charger I'm using only has two wires at the point of where it connects to the battery.

I would guess they just used standard 3 conductor servo wire with the signal wire not connected to anything?

I suppose. I charged it up and it says fully charged so I guess I wont worry about it.
